"Hi, I'm Mykala Tokunaga. My dad's a great fisherman.  He owns a fishing store and he taught me everything I need to know about fishing.

I'm nine years old and if I can fish, so can you!"

Hand pole Setup
To set up your hand pole, you will need a 9 ft. hand pole, a spool of 3 lb. test line,
a #3/0 split shot sinker, an MZ #14 hook and shrimp for bait.

Measure and cut a piece of monofilament line that is the same length as your hand pole.

Tie one end of the line to the tip of the hand pole using the improved Clinch Knot shown in Mykala's Fishing tips #1.

After mashing the barb of the hook with pliers, tie the hook to the other end of the line with the improved Clinch knot.

Pinch a split shot sinker about 7 inches above your hook.

Put bait on your hook , pick a good fishing spot such as a tide pool with a little bit of waves coming in and out and start fishing!
